Re: A Few Manual Swing Guards
We haven't paid for cable or Tv since about 1998. Just an old antenna on the roof. Does that still work? I have an old rabbit ear antenna TV in my attic and I had been wondering if it would actually still pick up anything. Don't think I ever seen the 6% stuff. Unless you are talking about the natur...

Re: A Few Manual Swing Guards
I tried to undent them one time but they didn't come out all that great. It probably would be easier to just make new bolsters.

Re: A Few Manual Swing Guards
Tom, have you ever seen any manual swingers other than the brass 11"s that have the little circular dent in the middle of the bolsters? All the brass 11s I have seen had that but none of the others did. Those ones had this weird design where a small tab came up from the liners then the bolster was d...

Is that display thing an original or did you make one and scuff it up to look older?

Re: Help identifying Kris switchblade.
That's a great knife. Not a lot of the old picklocks had kris blades and even less of them had IMOP scales. And of the few that did, virtually all of them have cracks in the scales.

Re: George Jetson and the Future is Now.
Also, people these days will sit down at the dinner table and take a lot of pills instead of eating food. They didn't get everything right, though. The Jetson's seemed to think the people of the future would still favor the traditional nuclear family dynamics. And robot maids. ' BTW, what was this a...

Re: Can anyone identify this movie OTF
I just checked it out. It does seem like a legit auto, not a gravity knife or retractable prop knife. You can see it here at 19:06

The 9" ones aren't too rare but the 11" ones are very rare. I think I've seen about 10 total ever.

Re: 1930s flat guard purchase.
Why do all 3 of the automatics pictures have what appears as misaligned safety buttons. I have seen it so many times now that it must have been intentional, The older stilettos had safeties that was a piece of flat brass with a little tab bent over for the safety cap. When all the connecting area f...

Re: Need a Few Springs
It's not too hard to bend a 1/8" piece of music wire to the right shape and then just get a 3/32" brass rod for the pin.

Re: rocker/sear done
I missed this thread a few weeks ago. That was a great trick to make the base for the rocker. Getting two separate pieces with two even holes can be tricky. I never thought of having the two pieces connected until after they were attached.

I love that base for the rocker. No one is going to have worry about getting it repaired in 20 years.
