Re: NEW Italian Switchblade book!
The first pic two messages up from this one has a curved knife in the middle (to the left of the Maltese Cross). I have that knife. I have a hard time believing it is Italian. It's pretty clearly either Pakistani or Indian.

Re: Website update
That library is pretty cool. I wish I would have been able to order stuff like that when I was a kid. All I had was that little ad where you could get the NATO OTF (the "stiletto") or the standard Italian side-opener (the "switchblade").

Re: A few of my favourite things
Great set up. It's odd to see a collection start like this. Usually collectors start with the cheaper and not so special stuff before moving on to those ones.

Re: no more sharperdeals auction
The decline of Sharper Deals auction is almost as disappointing as the decline as the quality of a show whose name we will no longer speak. Remember how great they both were five years ago? Don't get me wrong, SD just had some unfortunate circumstances; I do not favor executions like I do for certai...

Re: Which is the oldest knife
I think you mentioned the Coricama had a dovetail. If so, that would probably be the oldest.

Re: 7” Japanese swing guard MINT
Nice. The smokey (whatever you call those) scales on the thrird from left are rare but the swirly stuff on the far left are really great. I usued to have a bunch of JPLs but the only two I kept were a smokey scale 11" and a steel liner 7" with plated bolsters. Then I kept the two REM stamped ones. A...

Re: Rizzuto Estileto but no Milano?
Standard 9" Rizzuto. If I could take a look at it, I might be able to tell if it was a better one or one of the more flimsy ones (which I assume would be the later ones). It looks like it's in good shape.

Re: Random shop pictures
How do those older Italian DA OTFs compare to others? Are they like the cheaper NATO types or are they more like the quality American ones?

Re: AGA 13" Batwing Problem
If you can take out (and replace) the top bolster pin and the two bottom bolster pins there are a few simple things you can do to make those ones fire much better.

Post them here where we can all see them and they will be saved for posterity (or at least for however long the image hosting sites decide to honor their commitments).

Re: Very old BOKER 712
I recently picked up a similar German lever. It's a little different in that all the metal is steel (except for the NS lever). It has no "Springer" type word at the bottom bolster. On the tang, it has an upside-down "Overland/Germany/Solingen" stamp. On the blade there is a etch that while being nic...
