Re: blade shaping.

tr is is great to see another example of your exceptional design and workmanship. In your "variations on a theme" is that a plunge lock lurking under your present work? Here is a low cost asset to the bench, a 1x42 belt grinder built from scrap and scroungings for about $15 (most of which went into ...

Re: coloring epoxy?

I have on hand some Devcon "aluminum" epoxy putty which makes an excellent bedding compound except for the grey colour.I have to bed the forearm on a 12 ga to muzzle loader conversion I'm working on but I don't like the grey. Two nights ago I did up a small test batch of the Devcon with some scroung...

Re: A good politition ????

It seemed too good to be true but at least she is fiscally intellegent :( Good point Vagrant and that can be a real dilemna for the pro gun voter. Our last Liberal Prime Minister had been arguably one of Canada's best Minister's of Finance ever but when he ran for re-election as PM he promised to b...

Re: A good politition ????

There is more to Mayor Hazel than you would learn in a Rick Mercer comedy segment. That old girl wants to see handguns banned and the long gun registry retained. Not my type at all.

Brookies taste better when caught on vintage equipment. This is my father's rig which he bought second hand when he returned from the war. Dad turned 90 a little over a year ago and Mother didn't want him going to the woods alone anymore :!:

Re: multitool auto

The lefty aspect may or may not be an image issue, I've never seen lefty leverlocks that haven't been custom built. Vagrant has pointed out on a number of occasions that "off" hand deployment of a leverlock is actually easier to accomplish than "on" hand and I'll back him up on it. I have cycled a c...

Re: multitool auto

Anyone else see what I noticed in Whipper's second link? Looking at the 2nd knife down (and others) it would seem that what appears to be a leverlock is quite different from the standard design. First off, the knife has a rockerbar backlock . Second, from the placement of the release lever it would ...

Re: AWB

True words, Vagrant. When I was 15 yrs old (just a few years back) I was in the market for my first new shotgun. The clerk at the hardware store quoted me a price to which I agreed, then mentioned he had quoted the wholesale price by mistake.Being aware of the market I knew his statement was factual,...

Re: Push Tang Construction...

Apologies for the late reply but after all ,it is hunting season. "push tang" is marketese for "the tang is too short to be called a "stub tang". It would be about the only way to put together a hollow handled survival type knife ( short of integral construction as practised by Chris Reeve) but the ...

Re: Happy Fourth

My ancestors for the most part were United Empire Loyalists who had worn out their welcome in the States and came to settle in New Brunswick in 1783. Within a generation ,and with the everyday trials of life the political crap was mostly ignored and trade flourished all along the Eastern seaboard. E...

This might be a useful link; http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com/ar ... fmarks.pdf

It looks like it wouldn't take too much time to fix up that double into a great little utility gun, assuming the action is sound.I'm thinking you would find it a enjoyable project.

Re: Pop's Pop, Popper's Pop's Popper?

Shotgun proof marks are usually on the underside of the barrels, near the breech. Pull the barrels, get a picture and surely one of us will be able to help.

While I can appreciate your good fortune redblade a word of caution just might be in order. My wife went through all the red tape to put a CZ75 under the Christmas tree one year.Turned out she wanted children, now I'm just starting to recover and its been 25yr.
