Re: More love for cheap switchblades

Okay, I just received my knife from Grindworx. I got the one with the pearlex handle. All I can say is this is definitely not a cheap china made copy. Mine also says AKC Italy and it is solid and tight. I own about 80 switchblades and a few china made and you can tell the craftsmanship on this one f...

Re: More love for cheap switchblades

I just ordered this from Grindworx. https://www.grindworx.com/item--AKC-11- ... tic--39470
and paid $109 plus tax. Is this the same knife?

Re: Surprisingly decent Chinese “Tactical Black” Stiletto

I got that same one several years ago and it's pretty sturdy. However, mine doesn't stay closed and I didn't feel it was worth paying to repair.

Re: Auto Knife Friends in San Diego Area

It occurred to me today that the reason I posted this was so that I wouldn't be taking money from Paypal and sending the knives out. I wanted more of a one on one transaction. I've been getting PMs wanting to know what I want to sell. I'm sorry that I got caught up in the Deal. I am still not comfor...

Black Beauty question

If this question has been answered here before I guess you can delete it or direct me to the link. As a life long switchblade collector, references are made to old ads showing the Black Beauty. Is this the holy grail of old, classic Italian switchblades? Was it the Rizzy of its time: fair quality an...

Auto Knife Friends in San Diego Area

I'm looking to sell or trade with anyone living in the San Diego County areas. An actual meet up would be preferred because I have about 90 in my collection and it's better to try them out first hand rather than sending them out through the mail. I have a nice collection of antique American knives a...

Re: Replacing scales on vintage knives

Properly rehandling a vintage knife is not as easy as you seem to think it is. Collectors can spot an amateur rehandle from 10 feet away. If you are going to do it, have someone who knows what they are doing do the work. It's not cheap, BTW. There's a thread on here somewhere. Years ago, I found an...

Re: Switchblade collection in California

Thanks for all the constructive advice. I really don't know why some people felt they had to have an attitude about my question, which I asked honestly. We're here to discuss a mutual love for autos and I had a legitimate concern. I wanted to be able to keep my collection and needed friendly advice....

Switchblade collection in California

I live in PA where it is legal to own a switchblade as a curio. I have a pretty large collection (approx 80) ranging in sizes from minis to 18". I am planning on moving to California where switchblades are legal as long as they don't exceed 2". Does anyone know if this law applies only to carry? If ...

Re: Rizzuto estileto milano knife

When I lived in San Diego I use to always cross the border for knives. I had a bunch but they didn't last long. Cheaply made. Fire them a few dozen times and they start peaking out of the handle. I use to buy them for about $5 back in the 80s, I'm amazed that people still want them since they are re...

Re: PA knife laws 2016

It's been a while since I read about the bill that was presented to remove knife restrictions in PA. I can't find anything online with any current updates. I've been to the suggested sites but no word. Anyone have any information as to whether this bill is going through or are autos still illegal in...
