Re: Super Automatics

I once had one of the "secret agent" otf's. The tang stamp said "BELL" The quality was crap. The handles that say "NATO MILITARY" and have the "GERMANY' tang stamp are of better quality. The ones that say "super automatic" written on them with pinned bolsters are the best version of this pattern of ...

I love mine just as much as my scarab clone. Of course the "real ones" would be better but for the money, they are amazing clones.

Sorry I can't post the picture (broken scanner) The knife is called "The Needle" According to the article it has a kick spring cocking mechanism and closes by gravity. Do a search on here for "needle" as there has been talk of this knife in the past. Post was titled "What kind of blade did I see?"

Yeah, Can't seem to find any pinned natos these days. The only ones I've seen are solid chrome bolsters like the star automatic. Seen a nice super automatic that was pinned on I think sharper deal awhile ago.

Hey Gunner , I like your nato military, It looks to be better quality than the $23 all black one I remember from the old Edge co. catalog I have.

There are many handle names of this same pattern of knife "nato military" super automatic" "secret agent" "star automatic" Ect. This pattern has been around for decades. Even though It's no Microtech, It's shape makes it the most famous of all OTF knives.

I think the custom Tritons pictured here are amazing. But I would be lucky to be able to own the MOD version let alone the $2000-$3000 custom. I can't fathom how theese can be worth almost 10 times as much?

New Hitcher OTF!

Just saw a commercial on tv for the new "Hitcher" movie. It shows his new OTF. He has upgraded from an old nato military(1984 version) to what looks like a Harkins Triton. Can anyone else confirm this as the knife in the commercial?
