You can cheat and wrap a little dental floss around the inside of the round safety thumb disc. This will provide enough friction to quick fix it, but it is a jimmy rig fix :D

The more expensive the knife, the pickier I am. On a AKC base model stiletto, I am never expecting perfection. But on a Walts I am less tolerant. I guess my biggest 'pet peeve ' in knives is the safety. A free floater and sticky mover both drive me nuts.

...I really think that sending unsharpened 'letter openers' vs. sharpened knives has something to do with it, esp in this day and age of accelerated knife seizing by greedy customs bastards.

Those flat grind blades are very difficult to find without 'some' curve in them. -Especially in the 13'' and 11'' sizes.

Welcome to TB. The 11'' series Walt's classic knives did not have the Walt's 'W' inside the cat emblem. As well, they did not have red dots on the safties, and lacked numbers for the series. The 9's were all red dot and numbered, with the 'W' in the cat. Prior to the 9'' series, only the flatguards ...
