Maybe this is a dumb question, but what's the advantage of titanium, other than lighter weight?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: FRANK B HUMPBACK
I've got half a dozen or FB's, some 5mm's and one humpback. No problems (except those that could be swiftly fixed with lithium grease).

Re: Why not more picklocks?
I appreciate the answers! I do have a picklock (a conversion by Muskrat Man); it's one of the 5mm Walt's Latama knives. The back spring is VERY strong (or so it seems by the extraordinary strength and speed of opening). Most of my knives are either swivel bolster or button open or lock back. I'd thi...

Why not more picklocks?
Why are so few picklocks coming out of Italy these days? I see a few, and a few humpbacks, etc., but most are swivel bolsters. I like picklocks! Where are they?

Re: AGA Campolin safety problem
there are parts on these tumbled polished and I have seen more than once the little white stones/beads used for this stuck under the scales and jaming the button from pressing down which could be the problem . either way the knife woulld have to be taken apart for repair and adjustment of the loose...

Re: AGA Campolin safety problem
Though I have not had one of these knives apart, I believe they use the standard, modern Italian safety. That said, I don't see how the safety could prevent the knife from opening as long as it moves to the rear. If the safety is stuck in the "safe" position, use a piece of wood or similar to gentl...

John,
I took your advice and emailed the company. I'll bet Bill DeShivs will see this thread and post soon. If not, I will contact him.
Thanks,
Bill

AGA Campolin safety problem
Hello, I have an 11" AGA Campolin lockback. Nice stag scales. Nice action and lockup. However. . . the safety button has always felt a little loose in its groove. Now what's happened is that the knife is locked closed and the safety is completely inoperative, in other words, I can't open it. I fear ...

Re: Humpback problem
Yes, I did. I have to say that Bill DeShiv's lithium grease treatment did it again.

Humpback problem
Hello, A couple months ago I bought one of the FB humpbacks that have recently appeared on the market. Nice knife. Recently it's developed an annoying problem: I press the button, the knife seems to take a minute to think, then fires. The (coil) spring seems strong--fires the blade all the way, lock...

Re: DUE BUOI THORN HAS LANDED!
I just took delivery of Ram stiletto. Wayne had it in stock--an unclaimed order--and I grabbed it. Have only had it for a very short time, but so far I'm quite impressed. I have a number of Walt's Latamas, and tho' I like those a lot, I just might like this better. Fit and finish are IMO clearly sup...

Anton Wingen leverlock
Hi, I have an old Anton Wingen Jr. leverlock--looks pretty much like a Hubertus--that I picked up for cheap at a junk shop awhile ago. I say "Anton Wingen," despite the fact that all you can read is A and W. . . N jr; the rest has been ground off. Seems to me I read somewhere (and now can't find it)...

Re: dull 5mm Walt's Latama
Hi ive sold both the 11" and 9" Latama / Beltrame 5mm models , the 11" 5mm models i got direct from Frank had sharpened blades ,, the 11" and 9" models i got from walter had un-sharpened blades , walter told me he is trying to stick to the tradition of Latama of the 1950's as none of the Latama sti...

Re: Latama Automatic Knives
I have one. I agree with Bill--very nice. Be advised that they often come without any edge at all. This may or may not matter to you. It does to me.
