Sloppy work by the knife maker. Like Bill said super glue will fill in the voids. I use the super glue gel. One application might be all you need. Good luck, let us know how it worked out.

I have found that any quality neutral shoe polish works.

I would have preferred it with the bead blast finish, but when I got it I didn’t have an option. I mostly use it for gardening, cutting stalks off plants, strings to tie plants up. And to sharpen the occasion pencil. I’ve had it since ??? I paid $39.00. If I had to replace it I’d pay today’s price. ...

I got this several years ago. The button is recessed. I can’t recall it opening in my pocket, but without a safety there’s always a chance of it opening. Whenever I use it the knife never lets me down.
