Good evening Boker and welcome, The Mikov is a wonderful knife and quick as a wink you lift the spring up and out with a small screwdriver, and to replace it just push it into the rear of the handle. You can then seat it into place by pushing the handle down on a firm surface, like your wifes coffee...

Swinguard.com question

Has anyone heard the winner of the drawing for the 15th of November at the Swinguard.com site? The site also says about some new knives arriving on 12 November. When I bring up the site it hasn't changed in days even though I've hit my refresh button when I go to this site. Guess I'm getting senile ...

9" picklocks ?

Good evening all,
I've heard rumors of AB & FB are and will be making picklocks. This is very exciting to me. Has anyone seen or handled any of these new knives? SKM has them on their site, I'm surprised no one on the forums is talking about them.
Take care,
Sam

Good evening Cat, You are quite correct in thinking the F-S fighting knife is not the best choice as a general utility knife. It probably wasn't the best choice at the time it was designed. Many years ago Rex Applegate himself told me that either Fairbairn and or Sykes went to the Tower of london to...

Good morning Mark, Sorry to get back with you this slowly, have been repelling borders from all points of the compass! My answer to your question is without a doubt WILKINSON! Full stop. Over the past two decades Wilkinson has provided three of these knives to me, one of which was a custom th...

Hi guys, Saturday was a dedicated youth day for whitetail deer hunting here in Maryland. My son Willy shot a 9 point 142 pound buck, a 50 yard shot in open field and a clean kill. Rifle used was a .270 Browning A bolt with 130 grain Nosler Ballistic tip. NOW, my reason for this prologue is that to f...

Good morning Steve, I am totally enamoured with your Black Beauties. With those two in a collection I am almost inclined to say "See Rome and die". I, like many others grew up with the BB advertisement longing to have one, but never obtaining one. I have owned some beautiful Italian stilettos and ev...

Good evening Mark, Yes, the Hen & Rooster stiletto is a wonderfully slick knife at twice the price. Very clean lines, very European in style. I enjoy carrying mine on warm summer afternoons in lightweight casual clothes, it is light in weight and doesn't profile badly. I chose the blue scales as the...

Hi Switch, You got to watch what you carry, when you carry and where you carry. You don't need to get busted and we the collectors don't need the bad press. OK  Yes, I carry a flat grind 11" in my right hand jacket pocket in the evenings about 11:30 PM when I walk my dog across MY property. I ...

Good morning Teddy, Did you ever meet John and Barbara Slater "Rockers" from Borham Woods, he rode a Norton International, his boots were always saturated with oil from the open valve springs. He later rode a Gold Star. I remember him from a Potters Bar to Brighton jaunt. Gosh Teddy, Those days seem...

Good evening guys, I can clearly remember the kamikazi bikers in Germany, with their sandblasted leathers and helmets when I'd see them fueling up their crotch rockets. One rainy evening I had to make a run from Metz, France to Salzberg, Austria. Even though it was raining heavily, traffic was movin...

Good evening Mr Vagrant,
Might this be a knife from one of the smaller islands in the Phillipines, perhaps Sebu? I could hazard a guess from the handle style that it is from Bali or less likely Java.

Hope this finds you well and happy Al,
Regards,
Sam
