There has been a product out for years that uses broken shells mixed in resin to make cheap handles. Some are ok looking. That is what these are. Here is another example:

Agreed Chris, but this just makes a confusing issue for the vast majority of knife buyers who now feel all AKC items are cheap China made items. Dealers at shows present China made stuff as real Italian items as does many online sellers.
