Re: I just put a $1000.00 down payment on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6L (X330)!

Does this model Jag use Lucas electrics? If so, consider some sort of exorcism, or selective replacements of a lot of the Lucas stuff.... No, it does not. This was the last year of the 243.5 cubic inch (4.0 liter) I6. This doesn't have the "Prince Of Darkness" Lucas systems. This model was made 8 m...

Re: I just put a $1000.00 down payment on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6L (X330)!

I received a call from my Personal Injury Attorney this morning. I'll be receiving about $13,333.33 by early May. I'll pay the $2500.00 to obtain the title for the Jaguar and I'll have enough to afford another trip south of the border. I'm going to fly this time because my travel partner doesn't wan...

Re: I have been buying silver rings on Revolution Avenue.

I DO enjoy Tijuana and its residents/people. I am a truly gregarious individual that likes to make friends wherever I go. The "Ugly American" really irritates me. I have more than a few compatriots south of the border.

I love the people and their attitude.

Have you ever worked on one or priced parts? There is a reason why they sell so cheap and can hardly be given away. Sorry, but somebody seen you coming. Gentlemen. Truth be told, the Jaguar four-door saloons built between 1994 and 1997 were built after the 200-million pound investment from Ford Mot...

Re: I just put a $1000.00 down payment on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6L (X330)!

This thing rides like a dream! The 245-horsepower puts the big 4110-pound vehicle down the road at a reasonably quick pace. It is the consummate "British Gentleman in a tweed sports jacket" that cruises effortlessly down the freeway at 70 mph while yielding 20 miles per gallon. (That's a 460-mile ra...

I just put a $1000.00 down payment on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6L (X330)!

I have just $4,500.00 more to pay and I'll take it home! (The insurance settlement from the accident I suffered on April 7th, 2020 will complete payment for this beauty! There were only 205 of these made during the 1997 model year and this example had been lovingly restored. It had 181,000 miles on ...

Re: I'm heading back to Tijuana.

Yes you did well with that one! Just wondering, are switchblades openly sold or just hidden in a display case so not to stand out? Amazing that some of these have been there for sale so long! These are openly sold in the case at "El Girasol" and other shops on Revolution Avenue. Come down and look,...

Re: Newest addition to my collection - Walt's Latama picklock

Love that picklock! They're so cool. I have loved them since I was 8 years old. I want one just like it with a plain blade. Both a 9" and an 11" would be so neat! Face it, when the 9" comes out of the shirt/sport jacket pocket, the conversation/argument is over.

Re: You have seen the Taiwanese swing guards on the "Tijuana" thread.

Sorry, Mike. If you had looked at the "Tijuana" thread, you could have seen the smaller knives without the plastic button lock. These look exactly the same.

I have already had an offer for the two Taiwan swing guards and have accepted it.

You have seen the Taiwanese swing guards on the "Tijuana" thread.

I'm putting up the two for sale. Is anyone interested in a Taiwanese swing guard with a plastic-coated safety button?

Re: I'm heading back to Tijuana.

That unmarked Japan one is worth the most ! That's is why I snagged it. It is a beauty! The blade is slightly scuffed from years of sitting in a case> The blade sits deep and looks tight in both the open and closed positions. The scales are still shiny, and I am thrilled to have this old "Rizzuto"....

Re: I'm heading back to Tijuana.

I actually found two Taiwan models and what appears to be a Japanese Rizzuto-style swing guard. I bought all three and a cheap Chinese Milano to boot. The Rizzuto-type knife looks to be about 7" in length and is a "spittin' image" of the originals (embossed bail and all). The only thing missing is t...

Re: I'm heading back to Tijuana.

I wish that someone that wants one of these would speak up. They are better than I previously thought. These are on a par with the old "Rizzuto Estillto Milano" knives from Bell of Korea.
