Both bone and water buffalo horns are prone to moisture damage in humid areas, so pinning them only creates another area for the material to crack.

The only thing I can recommend is to countersink the underside of the handle (facing the blade) and pin it in place, then sand flat. No expoxy necessary.

Balisongtimes server took a hit. Unfortunately, between work and other constraints, nybble doesn't have time to sit down and fix it. The good news is that it's not going away, and some new stuff will be implemented when it comes back.

A 5" Bob Lum Dagger with milled Ti handles of my design. Which would inlcude the zen-tang pin and latchless.

Nothing unusual about the Khukri blade. It works quite well as a cutter.

There's another Norwegian balisonger floating around by the name of Ixpfah. Guy recently snagged a killer custom bali by Larry Davidson.

BM made a few runs with D2 blades. If you can live with a semi-dagger blade (only one side sharpened), theres several places that's still selling the BM Model 46 for around $100.

Yes. Until you get used to the grip and the weight, it'll have a tendency to be slippery. I've done it to my BM Customs, and others. Including the Spyderfly protos. It happens... :(

SD: You'll like the Spyderfly. It's a blast to do finger twirls. Which was the best part of the show for me. I got to play with all 3 of the Spyderfly proto's. Sal and Eric were very gracitious in letting me play with them with no issues.

Sorry. Was there only on Sat. and Brad wasn't at his table when I stopped by. Did talk to Allen Elishewitz and Larry Davidson, and both don't think there's enough space in the pivot for the Whiplash bearing system.

:D You best let the wallet rest for a while....

I picked up only 4 bali's this month. But I also snagged 5 Lum's at the NYCKS, so I'm seriously broke. But it's a good feeling....

Congrats.

The 49-04 and 49-05 are about the least cost effective of the 49 series. They use the production handles and latch. While the 01 through the 03 uses milled SS handles. The best value is the 49-03, if you can find one.

In that case I'll find out first. Since I'll probably see him at the NY Show.

Any word if Brad's going to put his Whiplash bearing system into the pivots? If not, it's a tad pricey for me.

That was the model 49-01. It came from the factory with a MSRP of $600. Dealer cost was much lower. The handles are milled SS, and the latch is custom made. No production components on that one. They don't come up that often, so it's hard to tell if the asking price is fair. Edgefinder is a pretty w...
