Re: Switchblade for rescue workers

That's what I'm looking for! Now the hunt begins. I'm able to locate the assisted open on that site but not the auto. I need to do some rooting around that site to see if I can locate the auto. Thank you for your help! I have no idea if THAT site has the auto or not. They were the first one to come...

Re: Switchblade for rescue workers

If you can find one, a M.O.D. CQD Mark 1 has what you're looking for. Don't know if they're still readily available, but I found this link to show you what I'm talking about http://www.knifeworks.com/browseproducts/Masters-of-Defense-CQD-Mark-I-With-Window-Breaker--Black-Blade--Plain-Edge.html Not s...

Re: POLL: Tools or Weapons?

I still say my knife is a tool not a weapon. :-)

If my pistol, which IS a weapon, runs outta bullets, and I had NO other choices, of course I'd use the knife, but only as the very LAST RESORT.

Re: The Three Dot Mystery

Those are assembly dots. If you notice, all the parts will have 3 dots. Just like assembly numbers. I thought those dots were your marks Bill? I vaguley remember there being a "Knife Doctor" (like yourself) who restored old knives. So the owner wouldn't be able to pass the refinished knife off as m...

Re: Self defense?

Do you carry a switchblade for self defense? Defense against whom? An attacker with a knife? Have you ever seen the "winner" of a knife fight? The "winner" has just as many slash/stab wounds as the "loser". An attacker with a gun? Do you really think they'll let you get close enough to them to cut ...

Re: Size Comparison

I always favor the 11" and carried one that size for years as a teen .... I have large hands so perhaps that is why I like the 11" over the 9"..... You and me both! Like you, I haven't carried a stiletto in years (I now carry "tactical" autos) but when I did, the 11's fit my hands just right....

Re: Movie Switchblades

On the last episode of "The Walking Dead", they used a Sandshark to "practice" doing a C-section on a zombie.

Kinda surprised they used such a high priced, hard to find knife, for a 2 second screen shot. If you blinked, you would have missed the scene!

Re: Frank B. picklock

Hi the first Frank B picklocks with regular bolsters (11 inches) were made in 1999 or 2000 for TSF, they were all made with the new style button/safety, they did have full cut liners top and bottom, nickel/silver bolsters, blond-blackhorn-stag handles, stainless button and safety, bayonet blades. a...

Re: Frank B. picklock

The button/safety mechanism is the modern type. Otherwise, the knives are very nice. Bill, When Frank B. made the very first "new" picklocks for The Switchblade Forum, did he use the modern, or old style button/safety? While I'm on the subject, do you remember what year he made them, 2000, 2001????...

Re: A new Maniago

Just a clarification: we likely won't be doing any reissue , but something entirely new - striking the eye, of course, to classic Maniago designs. M. Whatever designs you choose to make, I'd like to see them with: Thicker blades Thicker brass liners Nickle silver bolsters Exotic scale material, suc...

I saw this ad and was wondering if we all agree that the 18" models have only been around since 2000? I know a friend of mine that bought a stag one in the 1990s unless I am recalling wrong.... http://www.sharperdeals.net/auction_details.php?name=Vintage-15-INCHES-Open-You-read-it-right-8-INCHES-Cl...

Re: Bolser OPENING auto

I have to QUESTION if the knives from http://www.highdesertco.com/stealthstiletto.htm are the "real deal" or CLONES! If you notice the two bottom knives have the "funky" Milano rivet near the rear bolster. When Knifeshop first brought out the bolster release's a few years back, I bought a dozen of b...
