Rivets
Hi Bill, Originally had this question in another forum, but was advised to move it to this one, It was also suggested that 2.8mm is too big for rivet size. What would you advise for future projects?

Rivets - Brass, Copper, Aluminium?
Hi All, Sorry new to the forum and knife making. My first project is a spring-assisted knife. Cannot decide which type of rivets to use or what size. The closed knife will be 135mm or 5 inches long. The guide holes already drilled are 2.8mm diameter but can be opened up.

Re: Marking Steel
Thanks Bill, will try the Sharpie. Cannot afford a bandsaw, so will try a hand hacksaw with M35 blade.

Marking Steel
New to the forum and knife making. The problem I am having is marking the steel as a guide to cutting out the required shapes. Have used engineers' blue, but scribe lines are difficult to see. Have glued a paper template to the steel, but the paper burns from the heat.

Hi All. Just like to introduce myself. New to the world of knife making and will (be warned) ask lots of questions. Live in UK and South Africa. Robert

Just want to introduce myself
Hi all
Decided that I needed a satisfying hobby, so knife making is it. Engineer by profession but not too experienced with heat treatment. I intend to make all parts of the knife myself. So, please expect many questions in the future.
Regards
Fisher
