On one side, I guess, I am not a blade maker
The one for skiving lays at a slight angle and shaves the edge off. At a 45 or less degree

I think you are correct that it is an Asian knock off but I do not think it was a kit. I only have intuition to back that up

I think you may be correct, I did a google search on the word rostfrei
It came back as a German word meaning rust free
Which is used by the Chinese and Japanese blade makers on some blades to …well, we need not go any farther
So most likely a knock off

It was given to me by my Mexican helper after his return tripe to his family farm, I always figured it was a cheap knock off till I paid attention to the blade
The blade is sharp as a razor and holds its edge I use white stropping chalk on a leather strip

It was given to me by a guy from mexico. Back in 1992
