Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Terry, it does look like they're relying on the recession that the"go" button sits in to prevent accidental opening. I'll be seeing about this when it arrives.

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Nice, XBMX! Got a pic to share? The one I'm getting has a 3-1/4" blade.

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Just over an hour after confirmation, my order status changed to "shipped". I'm liking the BladeOps experience so far. First time doing business with them. Lowest price I found online, a free priority shipping coupon code, no sales tax charged, and almost immediate processing. Strike "liking" in fav...

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

I'm sort of acting on the "advice" of whippersnapper. While he didn't directly advise me in this, he lamented on another thread, which I can't currently recall or locate, not having bought one years ago. As I've stated many times, I love switchblades, but I don't have any practical use for any that ...

Boker Kalashnikov

I just ordered myself a Boker Kalashnikov automatic knife from BladeOps. Nothing fancy. Black aluminum handle, bead blasted drop point blade in D2 steel. Looking forward to having an auto that's made for use. I'll post pics when it arrives.

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

My pleasure, John. Always happy to share a good deal with friends. Update: I said they were sharp but had only felt the edges with my thumb. Tried them both on a Wal Mart receipt, you know how flimsy they are. Both of them shredded it .

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

Note: the action on my order was not as fast as I'm used to but that's on me because I didn't read their shipping statement on the website. It says five to ten businesses days and I ordered last Saturday morning. They shipped on Wednesday. If you're ordering and want it fast, I recommend eBay. Cheap...

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

Terry, I checked on their website and it shows store hours and has a link for directions.

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

IDK, Terry. I got a business card with my order but it's in my truck at the moment and it's storming here. I'll get it tomorrow and see if they have one. I did notice the proximity to you when I saw the address and Google mapped it.

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

John I got them from an online retailer out of Michigan called Discount Cutlery. They're also available on eBay and at Rural King and Tractor Supply stores. Elite Tactical is the brand and the blades are D2 steel. EBay is the cheapest option, but nobody on there offered both from one seller so that'...

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

Yes, they would, John, and I intend to explore that possibility. By the way, they came wicked sharp right out of the box.

"Tactical" swing guards?

This pair arrived in my mailbox today. They combine my love of swing guards with a utility that satisfies my practical side. Not autos but are made for one hand opening and closing with ball bearing pivot points. The lock buttons need some breaking in and the flipping open and closed will require so...

Re: Cool old Bowie knife

I take that back, Ian. I'd own such a piece IF I had a proper display case, which I do not. I have a simulated treasure chest in which I keep my fixed blades. All my folders and switchblades are in a briefcase. A more accurate statement would be that it's bigger than I'd want to use.

Re: Cool old Bowie knife

Nice, historic piece. Bigger than I'd care to own, but simple as I like them.
