Re: Rizzy Confusion...

They are both legit. The one on the left is likely from the 1960s and the other one was probably made in the 1970s. Although some collectors are critical of these knives because they are cheaply made, they are old enough now that there is a high interest in them. The Rizzuto was in many movies and ...

Re: Rizzuto estileto milano knife

I remember seeing a few photos of Japan made Rizzutos with green and blue handles. Anyone else see them? Charlie am I correct they were made in those colors? I know the Korean made lever action ones came in several colors. Black, red, ivory, white, two different greens...JimBrown knows of all of th...

Re: Rizzy Confusion...

Fine examples of a great iconic knife. I would love to own either of them ,they are in great condition and will appreciate in value when the next gen.of collectors catch the Switchblade bug. Thank you, Tom and gravknife....I want to make sure I don't upset anyone by missing something, since I don't...

Rizzy Confusion...

I've read all the threads I can find about these two and I'm *more* confused! Just want to make sure that these look legit. Thanks in advance!

Re: CORICAMA Transitionals/Swivel Bolsers / South America?

Those are very beautiful, Mr. D. I know my grandparents were in South Africa at least once, but I didn't find any knives with the Coricama stamp. Had I found one, by all means, it would be yours! I'll be in southern Florida next week and plan to plunder estate sales and random unsavory establishment...

Re: Elusive trench dagger stamped "R" only?

That is a WW1 M1917 Austro-Hungarian Sturmmesser fighting knife. And from my research the "R" stands for the factory in Resicka where it was made. Being Austro-Hungarian, there should be a small eagle proof mark stamped into the underside of one side of the guard (example below). But it's easy to m...

natcherly wrote: Fri Mar 24, 2023 9:39 pm Looks like a tourist knife. I have one or two, but not marked "Lebanon". No great value but kinda cute. I'll try to dig one of mine out and post pix.
Thank you, natcherly! It does look "touristy"

Re: Elusive trench dagger stamped "R" only?

I read somewhere along the way that the "R" could stand for George Roth.

Lebanon? Dagger....is it valuable?

This was in my father's collection. Can't find many with sheath online...also this one is pretty big. Thanks for any info. In a couple of the pix there appears to be a wonky wing - it's the sheath on the counter in the background. This dagger (?) is perfect except for one little missing red dot fill...

Elusive trench dagger stamped "R" only M1917?

It appears to have been well-used. I had a grandpa who was in Korea and one of the WWs...but that's all I know. He was actually on my mom's side of the family, and this was in my dad's collection. Any help greatly appreciated! IMG_2778 Medium.jpeg IMG_2770 Medium.jpeg IMG_2775 Medium.jpeg IMG_2772 M...

Re: 4 Angry OTFs

The scales on that Primo are really stunning. 8) It's almost like thers a white flame with wisps of smoke rising from it . Beautiful knife ,I would have that blade professionally restored and polished and I would be reluctant to let it go. Although I have seen a few Italian trapdoor knives that are...
