AAS Dagger - Sort of....

I have a fondness for daggers despite their limited use. The F-S is of course a classic but with a weak tip and tang. The Australians fixed the weak tip part but retained the weak, rat-tail tang. I wanted my bladesmith to make a Bowie but he said he could not find a suitable piece of stag so I asked...

Re: West German GRAVITY knife

Looks like the rescue knife is still available from Eichkorn. More of a gravity "hook" than a knife.

4951.jpg 4952.jpg KM66 4953.JPG 4954.jpg I have four NIB daggers for sale, serial numbers 4951, 4952, 4953, and 4954. I will sell one, two or three but will not break-up the sequence to sell for example 4952 leaving me with 4951, 4953 and 4954. The number is your choice otherwise. All include the o...

Re: West German GRAVITY knife

Yes, all true as far as "JPD's" knife. The AES knives with the i-piece grip as depicted at the beginning of this thread are what I was referring to as being tourist junk. The type "V" from the picture in my previous post. The information clearly says "never adopted by the Bundeswehr".

Re: Handfull of East German Daggers - KM66

One, two, or three might be. Depends on the offer. Of course it must be either the three lowest numbers or the three highest.

I will make a post in the sell/buy forum.

Re: West German GRAVITY knife

Sorry to be late to the party. These three books are must have if you are serious about collecting German combat knives. Unfortunately I do not believe they are available in English. The picture of the page is from the Gravity knife book and at the bottom it lists the "type V" knife (LL80) as never ...

Commemoratives?

In my opinion commemoratives have little value, especially when they have been modified. I just ran across this Ek commemorative. On the back side it has a reserve officer's name and rank engraved. In my mind this is not work the price of a current Ek from Kabar. What says you guys? https://www.ebay...

Re: AKC Gravity Knife

Locating the blade release like is a mistake. When you grip the knife hard in a situation you are likely to release the blade back into the handle. Too big and ugly!

Those bear an interesting similarity to the US Army Quartermaster knives.

Who made this?

I recently acquired this "cleaver". I was told it was an old butcher's tool. I cannot find any information on who made it it, the legible markings include a pig head, K&K and "Extra Quality 10". It has a interesting head with a "foot" that allows you to stand it on end. Anyone have an idea about thi...

Re: Green Diploma

The quality on that is not great is it. The fit of the guard to the blade is terrible. I like the old ones like this: https://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=18508902 https://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=18912019 https://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=17964863 https://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good kitchen knife?

I realize this thread is over two years old...... I was always a big fan on Henkells (Zwilling) but struggled to keep them sharp. At the conclusion of the great division the Henkells remained in Arizona. When I was ready to replace them I did a lot of research online and also spoke with a lot of fri...
