Re: Bugs
It's my understanding that carpet beetles are common throughout the US, but that they thrive more in southern/warmer states (I know we have them in California, I've killed many throughout my life). There are a few different breeds of "carpet" beetle in the US, but the one I pictured is the one I kno...

Re: Bugs
I believe it's the carpet beetle larva. The larva is about the size of a small grain of rice. The adult beetle is about the size of a BB.

Re: Italy vs China Stiletto Seitchblade
Some Chinese Italian-style stilettos have brass liners (I just checked DHGate to verify). Some genuine vintage Italian stilettos have steel liners (plated steel). Coricama is one "brand" that comes to mind. These are rare and valuable. And some knives sold by the Campolins under their "AKC World" br...

Re: Question about a Latama picklock my antique shop found
Sounds like maybe the rocker has gotten jammed inside the cavity in the handle. Maybe the cavity wasn't cut with enough clearance, or maybe the horn has shrunk, or both. I would have recommended they contact Bill DeShivs about a repair. Best to leave such things (vintage Latama's) to a professional....

Re: help with Top automatic otf knife
Maybe one of these- https://i.imgur.com/RhiSPyP.jpg If it is one of those, and if you are in the US, there are TOP switch-combs available on ebay for $17 (free shipping). If the internal parts are the same, you might buy one of the switch-combs to learn on and acquire any missing parts you might nee...

Re: due buoi
First, you have to find a four leaf clover. Then, you have to spot a falling star and make a wish. Then, you have to catch a Leprechaun and put him in a headlock... In other words, you have to get REALLY lucky :D . It's very rare that Due Buoi knives show up for sale. But seriously, keep an eye out ...

Re: tang stamp "6"
Some pics of a knife with 6 under "Made Italy", and "Cleveland Cutlery Co." on the reverse. Not my knife. It would be nice to have definitive sources for who made what when it comes to Italian stilettos, but I know that's a lot to ask for. https://i.imgur.com/Zvkdmge.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9Isx1fc....

Re: tang stamp "6"
The thread I referenced in my previous post- https://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=25222 In post #5 Mr. DeShivs specifically said "made by Mauro Mario company in Maniago". In this thread Bill says that Rosco knives were made by Mauro Mario- https://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6449&hi...

Re: tang stamp "6"
I remember a thread where Bill DeShivs identified a stiletto marked with a 6 under "Made Italy" as being made by Mauro Mario. As far as what the 6 means, who knows, maybe a model number. Look inside the knife with a flashlight at the inner surfaces of the liners. See if you can see a little 6 stampe...

Re: Sweden balisong
I don't believe they have been made for several decades, maybe since the 1950's. And I can't find any reference to the company still being in existence.

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?
Those are very cool. If I had one I would snap it every now and then. It IS very cool . . .I'm surprised I have not yet seen a clone on DH-Gate . . . . Thanks guys. As far as my design being cloned, I certainly can't satisfy the demand for Ti-Lite autos by myself. And although my conversions are ex...

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?
Those are sweet lookin. I especially like the drilled out version. When you did make them were they available here or on another site? Thanks LaneLander. I started making them about 2 years ago. The bottom three in that pic are the first generation, the top three are the second (I call that model "...

Thanks eddy.
I don't currently have any available, and I don't make them often. It's been over a year since I made one.

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?
I have a little table next to the chair I sit in when watching tv. I keep whatever my favorite switchblade is at any given time sitting on that table so I can pick it up and fire it a few times when watching tv, so maybe I fire it a few times a day. For most of my life I didn't own any switchblades ...
