Re: New Mago (of Italy) OTF Knives.

There is nothing wrong with Chinese knives. Marking them "Made in Italy" or with counterfeit names is another story. I dont agree with that at all either and hate seeing this on any knife . I still wish somebody in Italy would have made them first instead of having to settle for one in this style m...

Re: Repair Markings

a few years ago I was sent a whole collection of Latama Flatguards by and well known knife auction owner just because he didn't want them marked only lightly cleaned.... Not sure "lightly cleaned" qualifies as a restoration or even repair. Of course some patina may be lost, but if the process stops...

Re: Re: Repair Markings

Marking repaired things is not unusual. Watch makers doing repairs usually put some identifying mark on the movement. That is to indicate that they have done work on the particular piece in the past were it to be brought to them again. It most likely also tells another watch maker / repairer that t...

Re: Repair Markings

There's some knives I've got that I've chosen not to get work done because of the possibility/risk that they may be marked if they need to be taken apart - namely the Kriss Latama that's immaculate in every way other than a slight peek. a few years ago I was sent a whole collection of Latama Flatgu...

Re: Replacement spring for vintage leverlock

I usually braze in a new sear on lever lock knives I have sent to me for repairs most of these are repaired by beating the blade hole closed to keep the knife from peaking which works I just preferer replacing the sear which is what usually causes the peaking in the first its just a a better way to ...

I'd order a couple the same spring can vary in thickness . the dealer who had the Donald trump...

Re: Brand new A.G.A Campolin ring pull with poor fitting?!

I believe the blades are installed in the US. He's ships them fully assembled from Austria and has for about 3 or 4 years now as far as I know . I did a repair yesterday on a Sahara even though I turned down the offer to do warranty work on his modern production knives it was sent here anyway . I r...

Re: Re: Repair Markings

I could detect the knife I took apart you repaired had been worked on the blade was worn down to a nub and buffed to a high luster the knife was a real turd not saying it was your fault the knife was trashed and nobody could have made it new again . I sure your customers are aware of your dots and e...
