All knives Armando made were marked "AB Coltellerie", "AB" or some variation of that. That was true for the whole period we worked together.

I confirm that Armando Beltrame is retired. So, any new AB/SKM knife must be a fake, unless it's coming from some stock (which is very unlikey).

I had also thought the little keychain sizes and up to 5.5" were SKM. They seem still available. Maybe by another maker?


They should be old stocks... in theory anything marked SKM should have been AB Coltellerie.

If new things are made with the SKM brand, they are an entirely different thing ...

AB Coltellerie (Armando Beltrame) was the knifemaker behind the SKM "core" models: Italian Stiletto 8", 9" and 11". These had various etchings over time, including: "Made in Italy", "AB Coltellerie", "AB" and (in the last years) "SKM".

The knives manufactored by SKM / AB Coltellerie were definitely NOT stamped as "SKM".

The SKM stamp was a later one, and they were mostly sold by other web sites, as SKM had already been shut down.

SKM is no longer in business unfortunately. It was the first switchblade-oriented online store in Italy, dating back to the 1990s.

The knives are what is left of it.
