Can someone ID this vintage mini balisong?

I picked this up yesterday at an antique store.

Appears to have brass handles and bone inlays (a piece of which is broken off). It didn’t have a center stop pin so I made one for it out of a nail.

There aren’t any markings. Could it be an old Filipino one?

Re: Fake Hubertus

I'm unaware that Hubertus sued anyone in China. Enforcing patent/trademark violations in China is nearly impossible. I would like to know where you got this information. I have seem many fake Hubertus knives, and I have never seen one marked "Hubectus." The original marking on the German knives loo...

Re: New Frank B swing Guard??

Those holes running down the center of the blade are a major turn off. I’d say stick with a traditional flat grind or dagger grind.

Re: Paypal Updates.

Thought this had been their policy for a while. Was the knife-related part a recent change?

I got a Hackman just like that one last year! Paid about $100 for it.

Re: Quality

Quality when it comes to Italian and Chinese stilettos is usually a crapshoot. I have a few modern Chinese ones that are almost on par in quality with the Italians. It depends on what kind of steel they use, the type of heat treat, the conditions they were stored in before being sent to the dealers/...

Some of them were made in Taiwan, some were made in Korea, and a few were made in Germany and Italy. I think that’s where the bulk of EdgeCo imports came from.

Re: Identifiers for a "Super Automatic"

Thanks everyone! The box is indeed marked "K - 108" on both end tabs. Tom, I had no idea that these existed before the 1980s..... it's especially interesting that you saw these first-hand in Europe way back then. Mario, I've been told that black is most common, then red and blue, and green is the h...

Re: unmarked Rizzuto

I finally scored a Rizzy just recently. It cost me a bit, but I’m happy with it and glad I finally got one for my collection! It’s about 8 1/2 inches open, has black handle scales and the swinguards sit well. Blade peaks a little bit, but it opens well and the safety works. Finally having gotten one...

Re: alphabetized list of Switchblades in Films

Don’t know if anyone caught this, but in the third episode of the South Park “Game of Thrones/Black Friday” trilogy, when George RR Martin is giving the “wiener speech” at the ribbon cutting for the mall’s Black Friday opening, he unzips his pants and exposes himself when a guy goes up and says, “Yo...

Re: unknown liner material

Don’t know about the material, but I know a lot of the Italian kit knives that people imported and assembled themselves back in the day would come with screw-in rivets. Perhaps these were old kits from China? They are really nice. I especially like the marble handled ones.
