John, yours also appear to have another marking on the tang that is missing on mine. Don't know if that is relevant or not.

I found this beautiful knife a couple years ago at a pawn shop, and it has been my pride and joy ever since.

I have to agree. Being only 15, he is not of legal age to possess a switchblade. Adding to that, his open affiliation with (and pride to be in?) a gang make me less than willing to help him aquire a(nother) potentially lethal weapon.
