I found America to be very much like that yes. I also read that all that money that goes to the national parks and the Rangers pretty much get spent on ruining the areas completely and in most case, irrevocatively. As the money is not spent on finding solutions to problems more so than anything else...

Ask at a hobby store about them. If they sell clay for sculpting and such, they may know where to get a hold of bricks as they would be the same thing used in making the kiln for firing the clay.

A high carbon steel (keep it oiled) such as 1095 or a tool steel (also carbon) such as L6. In stainless I would suggest RWL36 because you can't get much better steel than that Swedish Martinsitic powdered technology. There may be better out there, I just ain't researched it yet.

To see if you have formed the main bad habit have a gun savvy friend load for you and place a spent cartridge or two into the chamber/Mag somewhere. If when the hammer falls on that spent case and you have pushed/pulled/t...

I would recommend a Ruger .22 Cal Revolver for the learning phase and for simplicity. I reckon that the real fun lies in an Israili Arms Desert Eagle .44 Magnum for later on though  .

I dont use jigs with what I do either and it can take me a day or (Usually) more to have a bit of steel shaped, ground and ready for sanding to polished, depending on the size and style. Remembering that I have never worked on anything as small as a 'Pocketknife'. So I'm not arguing here, I'm just j...

Hmmm, would something like a Garage (enclosed section of house designed to house a vehicle fully and securely, as opposed to a carport which is open to the elements and really only provides a roof over said vehicle) be a good idea to have added on to peoples houses?! Or maybe I should have kept my m...
