I don't grind many, I don't use jigs, so I'm not in practice. It takes me 2-3 hours to do one. With jigs, it would take about 45 minutes to one hour. Bill The style and length would play a part in the time too. Would you agree with that Bill? I only know fixed blade knife making so I'm not speaking...

I have twin 17 yr old daughters, an they have some AWESOME natural firepower in the "kicking punching scrapping" department. God help the groper that pisse...

Love the knife; I can only hope to do half as well. Did you consider tapering the tang, ala South African style? That's a particular skill I have not yet obtained  , Though I would not have done that with this knife as it would have shifted the balance too far forward. The balance point is alm...

Thought I might just post some better pics of that Bowie. Gives a better idea of the knife now that it's finished. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s103/Mick_066/IMGP3437.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s103/Mick_066/IMGP3434.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s103/Mick_066/IMGP3426.jpg

Hell, let's get a keg. Maybe we can figure out how to tap that.... Hard to tell what he was talking about on that post. l.o.l. yup ,think we could figure out how to tap it , and most likely drain it. I'll be in that, but only if it's a keg of MGD, That was the only kind of American beer I co...

Heat treating can be done by just making a forge oven out of fire brick or Cinder? blocks (Not sure what the americans call Besser block bricks) PROPER term is "cylinder block" but at least 99% call it a cinder block  American dictionaries list it as "cinder block" so, another case of evoluti...

Well now I know what people mean when they display shock at Australians? (Tourists really) eating Kangaroo and Emu Meat. I must admit to being a little shocked that people would actually eat a Buffalo, they being such beautiful creatures to me, but then I got to thinking that I sure would like to tr...

Your blade grinds will depend on just where you stroke the knife across the belt (assuming your using the power tools in preferance to files). Holding the knife on the platen at your prefered angle will give you one of the Vee style grinds. Using the curve of the forward wheel with a little practice...
