What are the chances that this "abalone" is real, and not just colored plastic? Why in the world would they even bother with anything real? Just an unnecessary expense for them. Customers have zero recourse.

I would appreciate a little education here.... why are 9" knives a steal at $150 each? Seems like a more or less normal price for a nine incher. Simply because it has an obsolete lock release mechanism, the value is double?
