Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

Bill Collectors buy what is available. That is why prices are going up on nice lower end knives. I happen to like the Othello knives and would buy some more. I'm sure your collection of flat guards is awesome. I have only been collecting switchblades for less than a year. So I am not challenging you...

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

Hi Bill I don't think we should overlook the possibility that these 'fantasy knives' were made in Germany in the 60s after the war. There are the Othello switchblades made in Germany. Just google them. This 'fantasy knife' even kind of looks like the Othello style of construction. There is also the ...

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

Hi portlandmike
I bought one of those china knives with the gold and dragons too.
They are 9 and 3/4 inch which makes them stand out a bit.
Nice novelty.

He said the Solingen on the tang looks more German than Chinese. No safety is unusual. Not from 1943 but more like 60s qua...

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

Hi Bill
The reason is that these seem sort of scarce. Do you know how the scales and button are made?

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

What about the scales on this?
Those had to be stamped out.
The die must be lost or there would be more of these showing up.
One showed up on ebay. Without brass liners but otherwise the same.
It sold for $490.00.

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade

What about the scales and button on this. Those were stamped out it looks like. Maybe the reason there are only a few of these is that the die has been lost. One showed up on ebay recently. It didn't look as quality as yours. The liners were not brass but otherwise the same. The one on ebay sold for...
