Re: Cold Steel Arc Angel: Underrated

If folks find those and buy them, keep in mind they all have carbon steel blades and will rust if stared at too hard. Its 1095 steel and great blade steel but it will rust. Cold Steel called it Carbon V.

Re: What Is Your Most Prized Balisong?

Jody Samson was an artist when it came to grinding blades. Have a few, wish I had more.
Should have bought a bunch when I was a PCC/BM dealer.

Re: What Is Your Most Prized Balisong?

Came in Friday. A Samson ground stilleto blade with black and burgandy inserts.
N I B. Thats right, it is new in the box.
The butterfly logo is missing the circled R.
Handles are still stiff.
Beatiful knife and a lucky find.

Buy the Ren wax if you want to but any carnauba wax will do. It does not have water in it. I have been using a car wax for many years. Same can, still lots of wax left in the can.

valor

Valor was an import and was included in the ban.
You might find a couple at either gun shows or flea markets.
Some were junk and some were pretty decent. I still have a few,

gift

Two options, Typhoon kit for around 70 bucks or a Benchmade 42.
Anything else is a waste of money if you want a durable balisong.

Zen pins; so calles because you do not see a pin in the tang. Derived from the srrictly unofficial term "zen richochet" meaning doing a double flip opening with a double edged bali. Without cutting ones self. Controling the flip enough where the edge does not make contact with ones fingers. Takes lo...

1st Mikov

Just received my first Mikov. The one with the file worked back spring and blade spine and rear bolsters.
Excellent. No blade play, but its still new.
Excellent finish and decent horn.

It won't be my last. :)

latama

Couple of years ago, at the Spirit of Steel show in Dallas, one of the vendors had maybe 200 pre ban Italians. Only name I recognized was Latama. I don't know much about the early Italians, most of my money goes to custom balisongs. Anyway, the guy, whoes name I can't remember, sets up at that show ...

stamp

Got one from Crowley, thats the stamp I was refering to. Crowley was just a little over priced. All the knives I had back then have been traded. None were of exceptional quality. I did have one stag handle Italian that was very nice. Got offered twice what I paid for it so I sold it. No regrets. Som...
