Peek repair and adjustments?

What are the methods for peek repair?
I have to assume there’s not one way to fix this?

Replace sear pin, add metal to sear hole is the fast and easy answer.

Is there any guidance to to using similar metals so they wear evenly?
Any other concerns or consideration to think about?

Thanks

Peening questions

Other than the obvious, a ball peen hammer, what tools help achieve a nice rounded peened pin?

Also is a press used to pin scales and pins?

Thanks

Closing an auto?

Do you all press the button or lever for closure to relieve stress on the sear, or not?

I almost always do.

Springs please

Springs- Speaking about Italian autos, or reallly kick spring knives. Some have springs that include the entire back spring lock hole etc. Others are 2 piece, I guess that’s what you’d call it? I have to assume a knife with “2 piece” is going to be an easier, quicker repair / replace? The “one piece...

Storage and care of Switchblades

How about a thread on storage and care of our collections? Coat them in oil? Not in cloth? No humidity. How to prevent rust issues. I’m real new to collecting and finally getting some nice pieces together and would like to keep them in the best possible condition. I also live in a very dry climate, ...

Re: Knox Switch Blade Patent 35958

I received my knife, and it does indeed have the Patent 35958, just that it’s on the opposite side of the one pictured above.

Re: Knox Switch Blade Patent 35958

I’ve recently come across basically the same knife, without the the patent #, just the oval with inox inside.
Does the above information apply?
