Unfortunately, I don't have a grinder or even any suitable files, and I don't quite trust myself to drill true holes with a hand drill.

Would plain handles be too heavy for proper flippage?

Well, there's only so much you can do with a hammer and a crescent wrench. I really can't do anything beyond polishing the handles.

A few weeks back, I picked up a cheap cheap balisong, and I've really been having some fun flipping it around. However, it's so loose I'm afraid it's going to spontaneously disassemble one of these days, and all of the Chicago screws on it are badly stripped so I can't tighten it. I figure it's time...
