Ok, I'll give you a map :) https://www.knivesofitaly.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/piemonte.jpg As you can see we are in the northwest part of the "old boot" at the bord...

Re: Italian knives

Hi Ian The firts one is an Italian duel knife from Rome or nearby areas, built in 1800-1900. It's an unusual form. I just saw one with the same shape some months ago on ebay. It's usually called "coltello alla romana" or "serratore alla romana". I will write about this model in one of the next weeks...

Re: Guerre de fils paris?

You are welcome! the market for these knives is a bit strange. I can talk about Italy and for what I know, about Europe. There are knives (especially big duel knives) that reach very high prices, for the others in these years there is less interest. A golden rule here in Italy is that price increase...

Re: Italian knives

Hi Dave Prioletta was a famous family of knife makers from Molise, but Molise is not Sardinia, it's another region in Central-Shouthern Italy. Lelle Floris produces not only Sardian knives, but even models from other areas. That model is usually called " Molletta " that is an antique term (molletta ...

Re: Guerre de fils paris?

Hi Brushinmd, that's a model with deer horn handle that was produced in France, Spain and Italy. A French production center was in Langres, in Italy in Maniago, I don't know the name of Spanish towns in which it was made. This one could have been built between 1850 and 1950, but if I had to bet I wo...

Re: Italian knives

Here we are with the first traditional Italian knife I choose for the beginning of this trip. I will try to post regularly one update every week. Sardinia ( Sardegna in Italian language) is an Italian island. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a377/ilgazzaladra/sardegna_zpsphrxux87.jpg The people of ...

Italian knives

As I wrote in my short introduction I'm a great lover of Italian traditional knives. I'm 43 years old and I'm always been interested in knives since I was a small child. Growing up my attention was directed almost exclusively to Italian folding knives and their beautiful shapes. I have a small colle...
