Re: "Regardless" Picklock
I think it's very nice.
If you want a brass pivot, LMK.
Thanks so much, Bill. I appreciate that! I'm just slightly confused on whether ALL the Ethan knives had a brass pivot pin or not. At least most of the ones I've seen do. Unfortunately, most of the pictures on SD Forum were apparently never ...

A little 7" Fabico (F.A. Bower Import Co.) picklock I bought from Mike Latham a few years ago, but don't think I've ever shared it here...

Re: 1950's 13" Kris Picklock
That's a beauty! Is it my old eyes, or does it have a one piece kickspring/backspring? Has to be my constantly aging eyes. Maybe a dovetail spring. But, a true beauty!

Re: "Regardless" Picklock
I’m a firm believer in repair, restore, rebuild, etc.
if it needs fixing…fix it.
I totally agree, John. I recall seeing a newer collector on FB, ask about an old ASTOR picklock that he somehow acquired. The blade appeared full, the scales appeared in good condition. But, the bolsters on the ...

Re: "Regardless" Picklock
Tom, Jim, John and Eric, thanks for taking a look and the nice comments! I know I'm among the minority of a clean or repaired, restored, rebuilt knife not bothering me a bit, myself. One person might post a clean knife, and the community will exclaim how mint the knife is. Another person will post ...

"Regardless" Picklock
We've all seen guardless knives. Well, this is my "Regardless" picklock. Regardless that it should likely have a brass pivot pin, regardless that it's more than likely been rescaled and not having a red dot on the safety. Whatever changes it's been through by previous owners over the last 70 years ...

Re: Kris' Leverletto
If I remember correctly, there was only one run of about 300 made.
I only have a couple in my collection.
Wow. I had read no more than 100 made, and prior to 2010. But, I can’t vouch for the source that provided that info. Where they got that from, I’m not sure.
*EDIT*: I just heard back from ...

Re: A different kind of BUFALO
Those are neat. I understand these types of knives were/are used in some sort of florist/gardening industry? Though, I'm not exactly sure HOW they are used, but I've read of the sharp "nib" on the end of the blade splitting some fingers while using them.

Re: New 11" AKC World Swing Guards.....
I see they are also listing the new AKC WORLD 11" swinguards as Country Of Origin: ITALY, and describing them as having nickel silver bolsters, guards and buttons. So, certainly a bit off with descriptions.
