Re: Chinese "knockoff" automatic Knives?

The only good thing that comes out of these counterfeits is that they're somewhat of a "gateway drug" to stiletto addiction. At the tender age of 16 I got a friend with a credit card to order me one because at the time I thought spending $60+ on a true Italian piece was nuts... well, let's just say ...

Re: I have been eyeing a 9" AB, ATS-34, Honey Horn, flat grind.

Very cool! I saw that knife too and it was a very reasonable price!

Also planning a trip to TJ this December, to meet with a guy I met on the internet... how shady is that? 8) If y'all don't hear from me after December, I guess you can pretty much make a good guess as to what happened... :?

...but you still don't see many for sale in stores.
because it's still a federal offence to import them perhaps, also normal individuals won't pay $60+ for a knife :P

Re: Legalization

Luckily, it appears that in most cases the letter of a lot of state laws specifies a ban on carrying switchblades. This is where the loopholes start because the legal definition of carriage is sometimes less definitive than what constitutes a switchblade vs gravity knife vs spring assisted and so-on...

Re: *** WTB a descent 9" swinguard"

If you need a 9'' you will have to go with AKC as I believe they are the only ones making this size right now. Btw AGA owns AKC. The AGA-branded swingers are generally much larger sizes

Re: first mikov

My first Mikov was a bastard step child Mikov must have had with Victorinox sometime before the 1993 split of Czechoslovakia ... not an auto but it's taken quite a beating as a carrier and likely one of the only Mikovs that are carry-legal everywhere in the USA :P https://beta-static.photobucket.com...

Re: Are certain blade profiles restricted in France?

I'm not sure about laws regarding sales, but I've been told by a French friend of mine that being caught with a stiletto (or apparently ANY knife) in any region of France will land you in the back of a cop car...

Gone are the days when every Frenchman had an Opinel in his back pocket... travestir!!

Re: New Frank B blonde horn/swivel

It seems Frank's "production" knives just get better and better scale material as the years progress, I've been eyeing the stuff on 3knives every couple weeks waiting for a sale or an increase in selection

Re: M ITALY 8" Swivel Bolster

I like the Swedge blade, wish it was more common. The unstamped ones always intrigue me... I've heard that the ones without stamps were non-exported models made for local consumption, which can make them more desirable. The M.Inox (widely considered to be a Mario stamp) is another good one. Interest...

If I were you I'd hide your shit at a friends house until this crap blows over.

...or you could "turn over" some cheap victorinox generics to maybe make think you have come clean and they'll shift their focus to someone else

Re: Finding knives in England

I hear they have bins full of knives in London! If they even make it that far...! Just past the French security/passport check at Gare du Nord, England has their own security check just before you board the Paris-->London train while still in Paris, probably 200 miles away from the shores of Britai...

Re: My new baby

Wow very cool story you should transcribe the poem, I'm super curious about that! This was on Crete? I wonder if you will decide to use it like the maker recommended? or keep it in a case? I'd be quite torn after such a suggestion for a gem like this... In any case... great score! Knives become 100%...
