Love it ,never seen one like this.
Looks almost french or Belgian but has the Maltese guards .
The patina is great and love that button ,a rare and unusual one for sure .
Thanks for sharing .
Billyfish Love that ghurka knife you posted with the ivory dots . That's a high quality knife and a nicely finished blade. The larger top 1 looks like a first world war example ,a large cache of them was found in India ,again a good blade ,really wanted one .
Terry I'm after 2 stag antlers to make a display for my Samurai swords so wish I could come on a hunt with you . I will probably be able to pick some up over here ,want the skull aswell with antlers attached so I can lacquer it in black and gold . They make a great japanese sword display .
I started out to just get a Johnny Cade shell puller knife but kept getting distracted by French and Italians ,along the way .
Buying was hard here in the U.K so I ran a gauntlet with customs and condition ,but never looked back and I am happy with what I ended up with .Problem is for me ...
Luke I hope more people share their stag knives here ,Seen many variants of stag ,nice material to carve aswell ,almost like ivory
That's a lovely Bowie you shared nice stag and love the fuller in the blade, those german knives sure are lovely quality .
Luke I made the knife you are asking about from an old thin butchers cleaver ,the stag was from an old meat carving set and the knife sharpener had snapped .The guard was from an old horse brass that I fashioned into a guard .. The cutout was done by me and used to have a filigree fleur de lis in it ...
