Love the horn on that example you got.

These look like real users for hunters etc .I'm glad John showed us his examples aswell....you can forget whats out there sometimes with switcublades.

F.P Glad you got the Ontario machete and it lived up to your expectations.Military knives are always well made and made ro last. Joe That dibin fulcrum is outstanding. 8) The horn is beautiful and ils a real minty example of a hard to find knife .I really love those swirls on the rear horn scale ...unusual ....like clouds almost. Joe I class all the IMPORT marked knives as exports from italy to other countries. I have a pre ban transitional Herbertz Import marked with 2 made for the German company to retail and have seen a few IMPORT marked blades along with other numbers,3 ,4 ,7 possibly to mark scale variants or blade type...

Mike Thats a great gift . 8) I havnt seen many of these for sale this side of the pond and I think they have great lines with that nice swedge blade,shaped scales and I love the red switch...its just a cool and different looking knife ....Congrats. I see there are some balisongs in that third case ....

Fishtail I agree about the older machetes .I have a Martindale marked with a crocodile stamp British ww2 1943 carbon example, and I absolutely love the American ww2 collins examples. ....both are very good for chopping and clearing bushes and a fine melee weapon in jungle warfare . Mike I think that some of the early knives were made in Russian prisons in the 70s and 80s probably in machine shops on the prison site 'but I cant be sure and have no proof .Mostly its what I have been told here on TB . There are some types that greatly resemble each other as if they came from cert...

Some unique knives indeed and they look great as a group.
