I just got done unrapping my new godson and noticed that all four edges of the elder burl inserts (longways) apear to be scuffed and rough to the touch, with little tiney bits of wood that will come off if you rub them with your finger. Yea, I'v heard those French blades are pretty good. I'm glad you have had such good luck with yours. How much do you think one would cost now a day?
