Somewhere stashed away I have a Varsity Club jacket from '67 or '68. I don't think it still fits.

Boker Folding Bowie

Hi Guys. A co-worker brought in a Boker folding Bowie for me to look at. It has about a 9 " blade marked "Boker & Co. Solingen" which folds into the handle becoming a 4" blade. It has stag scales and what appear to be german silver bolsters. It has a very well made leather sheath with a german silve...

I've got one of the carving sets. It looks cool, but I'm afraid the quality on mine is not that great.

Vintage Ka-bar.

A friend gave me an old Ka-bar knife today. It looks to be in original, well-used condition. The handle is very dark, and the only marking on it is a lorge "KA-BAR" on one ricasso. The sheath is brown leather, with what appear to be copper or brass staples instead of rivets, reinforcing the stitchin...

Immortal Porpoises Once upon a time there was a scientist who dreamed of immortality. After years of experimentation, he felt he had the answer and received a grant to do more research, which involved mixing the DNA from seagulls and dolphins. He built a lab on the coast and got permits to capture s...

I've seen those Woodsman's Palls in the catalogs but have never handled one. Does anybody have any experience with them? They look really handy, but appear to be a bit short in the blade department.

How do you like those Black Jacks? I've had a bad taste in my mouth about them since they bought out Ek. I see too many guys at shows & on ebay trying to push the Black Jack Eks as "original" Eks. A few of these experiences has soured me on the company, I admit. Are they decent? Worth taking a look ...

I'm a surveyor, and as such have used quite a few of these over the years. As was posted, Collins used to be the standard that all others were judged by. Today, there are so many out there, and some are at least as good as the Collins were, IMHO. Lately, I've been using Martindales. I find the blade...

Here they are. If you like folders, the M-21 from Columbia River is bullet proof. I read that it's the number one folder as rated by the boys in Iraq. I have one and love it! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y245/Marvinsson/Cold%20Steel/th_ReconTanto.gif http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y245/Marvins...

For the money and ruggedness, you really can't beat Cold Steel, IMHO. I'll second the SRK, and suggest you take a look at the Recon Tanto, Trailmaster, and Recon Scout as well. He should be well served by any of these, and if you look around on-line, they can be had for quite a bit less that the Col...

Happy Father's Day!

To those who have children, human or animal, and support, protect and guide, this is your day!

Also, if you have a Dad, call him or go see him, hug him, talk to him & tell him you love him. That will probably be all the gift he'll really want.

So, without further ado:

Happy Father's Day!!

I'm a cigar lover. Partagas #10s mostly. Cubanos when I can get 'em and afford 'em. When I see my doctor, he always asks me how many cigars a week I smoke. My answer is always: "Not enough!"
