Re: Mystery sword

Yes Ian,that looks like it. Mine has no scabbard though. You found pic, but don't know what it is, is that correct? I would definitely think it's too short to be cavalry. Thanks for the input, I'll start with your 1st 2 suggestions as they seem similar to what my father said. Should you come across ...

This came from my father. It has no markings except the number 9 stamped on it in 3 places.
If I can recall correctly, I think he said it was a goalers sword. Can anyone tell me anything about this sword.

Re: KC48 that won't close all the way

It's a lockback,so it could be a bent backspring,a bent pin,or a couple of other little things,I would need smaller pictures of the backspring and the blade to make a more educated guess. Ok, I'll take some pics on the weekend with the good camera, I can't get any good shots with the one I'm using ...

KC48 that won't close all the way

Hi all, I recently came into possession of a kc48 that has a small problem. When closed, the point is still out 2 or 3 mm. I'm just wondering what the cause is likely to be and is there an easy way to fix it.

Re: Kissing crane kc49 rostfrei

Well, my kc49 finally arrived. Beautiful knife. I'll definately be looking for more. I've just purchased a kc48, also with the wood handle. So now I'm waiting for it to arrive. I think I may be getting into a habit!

Re: Kissing crane kc49 rostfrei

Look for the two digit ones that say "Germany" on the blade. Those are the good, Italian made ones. And, of course, if you have any question about it, you can post a pic or a link of it here to be sure. If you are in a hurry, you can send me a PM. And if the seller doesn't give the length in the de...

Re: Kissing crane kc49 rostfrei

That's the thing!it difficult to find this stuff in Australia.what got me interested in kissing crane stilettos was I saw 2 in 2 different shops, both Chinese made versions. That's when I started doing some research. Long story short, it was cheaper to buy the kc49 overseas and pay postage to Brisba...

Re: Kissing crane kc49 rostfrei

Over what period of years were the pre-Chinese stilettos made, and how do you tell the difference because I've noticed some different etchings and stamps on the blades? I'm interested in getting more of the pre-Chinese stilettos and it would be nice to have some idea of what I'm looking at!

Re: Kissing crane kc49 rostfrei

Unfortunately, automatic knives are banned in Australia. A couple of years back they also tightened restrictions on knives to include double edged knives and daggers, any folding knife that can be opened one handed, and throwing blades. Knowing the government there are probably more restrictions tha...
