Homemade scales for knife

I liked this blade style but I didn't like the handle so I did something about it. :D

I don't have a shop so I make do:

I haven't got around to removing the tangs so it'd be flush with the wood.

LOL it was. I bought a set of blank scales (3 pairs) from Etsy and tada!

I used the Mahogany for this knife. I have the Walnut and the Maple scales left.

way better ! perhaps drilling and pining them on would be safer.... so if your using it they stay put ?

That large cutout right at the ricasso doesn't help to inspire confidence in the knife.
Hopefully the extended wooden slabs help a bit to strengthen/stiffen that area.
