I need some advice on peening materials

Post by rapidboy1 »

I have only used the pins that came with kit knives so far but i now need to get some pin material for a project.
Would this be suitable?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2523334862
I intend to epoxy the scales and file the pins flush.
Would it be too soft for a pivot pin?
Cheers

The material should work fine, though it may be a little large in diameter.
3mm is pretty big for pins.

Thanks Bill,
I had enlarged the holes to accept screwed pivot pins but i donated them to a fellow forumites project so i need slightly larger pins.
What abou using it for a pivot pin?

If it fits, it would be fine. LL blade pins need to be exact size.
It will, however wear quicker than steel.
