"Mangled" AK 47 knife

Post by Bill DeShivs »

Here is one that I did about 12 years ago. The customer wanted an over-the-top AK 47 knife.
As you know, part of the allure of these is that they are rather crudely constructed.
I polished and fitted all the parts, hand engraved and gold plated the frame, installed exhibition grade mother of pearl handles, and fire blued all the screws.

I own the full sized AK-47 and it is a great knife. I take this knife with me on training missions with the Army and it gets plenty of use. The one issue I have with this knife is the large hook at the end of the grip. All my pants have a hole worn through because it constantly rubs and the hard edge cuts through the fabric. Other than that it is a tough, intimidating and super easy to maintain quality blade.
