The knives are all the same...

Do you want to talk about your beautiful country, family, or dog? Would you like to say where you went on holiday or how you arranged the garden? Are you willing to tell us you girlfriend left you for a(nother) loser? Do you have ANY non knife-related topic you want to discuss? This is the place!

The knives are all the same...

Post by Gonzo_Beyondo »

but the people have changed.

As some of you may remember, I used to go nuts around my birthday, buying myself a few knives. After some rough times, and quite awhile of being out of the knife knut community, I sure miss something "new" firing in my hand.

A very depressing return this was.
Two of my favorite people on this board, Teddy and PushButton, are here no longer. Then I head over to BF, and read very sad news about another couple of my favorite people, Uncle Bill and VampireGerbil.

So much happens in such a seemingly short time.

Seems this year's birthday knives will each be somehow inseperable from the memories of these well-loved people of the community.

G.B.- there was a commemorative knife made in the memory of Push button and Teddy their forum name was engraved on each side of the blade and it sold for $42 I think, there may be a couple available yet but dont quote me on that.

Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich starker!
Pretty much literally; "What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger" but, "tragedy builds character" or "Our shared grief, brings us closer" would also apply in this case  Welcome back :)

Good to see you back.

Regarding the PB/Teddy knife, I bought a couple of extra ones, I'll bet some of the other guys did too. I already gave one to Slappy (He was the first to suggest a comemmorative knife; it got the ball rolling), but I have one "spare" left. If you're interested, let me know.
