I think that it would be a great personal defense Item. Think of the malefactor that would tell the judge how his intended victim beat him senseless with a Horse Quirt (let alone try to describe it).

The Black Horse Quirt arrived this morning. It is light, fast, and can be used to dissuade marauding dogs and fools. For $11.88 it was well worth the money.
