Mikov rescue knives - production models

Post by tanto »

Hello all,

Here are 3 production models of Mikov rescue knives.

1: this model has only one main serrated blade

Image

2: has serrated blade + regular blade (both auto). Since they are on one pivot, the regular blade is a bit difficult to open (great for left handed user).

Image

3: has serrated blade + glass cutter (diamond) + glass breaker. The glass cutter is attached on a bottle opener (very useful for czech rescue personnel) and is secured with linerlock.

The print says "Rescue knife" in Czech but we also have the English version. So what do you think?

I really like the idea of #2, having two auto blades. However, resolving the difficulties of opening the regular blade right handed would no doubt require a major design change.

Colored scales- great idea!
I could see this #2 knife used in Mission Impossible 3- if I knew anyone invovled with the movie. No switchblades in Revenge of the Sith- wonder why?

Actually I think the light saber qualifies as an OTF for the next generation.

Wow, this is a nice looking knife...I think I just found my new EDC. I really like the #3 with the glass cutter and breaker. I'm a firefighter and this will replace my current rescue knife. I have a couple Mikovs already so now it looks like I'm going to add a couple more to the collection.

Since the movie takes place "a long time ago", wouldn't it be the precursor to the OTF we know and love??

I loved the rescue knife soon as I saw it. My twin blade rescue will be here in a week. I got a kick out of the left hand main blade. I am a left hander though I do many right handed things also. I have been carrying a left and right Mikov daily and I am practicing throwing with both hands. No one is in danger at this time......

Do these knives have a belt clip attached?

I received my Mikov rescue with the glass cutter, glass breaker and rescue blade today. What a sweet knife! Lots of kick and very hefty. I can't put it down!
