12.5” Chinese Tactical Black Stiletto
SwordsSwords.com lists this as the Missouri Monarch XL Stiletto. The total length is 12.5”. Are there any genuine Italian stilettos that were that length? Or were there any that were exactly 12” total? Feel like I’ve seen them before, but they’re rare.
I’ve been thinking about customizing this one. Maybe I could get some lighter fluid or paint stripper and take the black finish off the blade and bolsters. Maybe remove some of the darker coloring off the plastic faux stag to give it a more realistic look. Let me know what materials would work best.

There are 13" Italian stilettos. Many aren't particularly expensive.
You would be much better off buying an Italian knife.

I think I’m just going to sell or trade this one and not even bother with customizing it. I do like to do custom work on cheaper knives just as something fun to do. Helps give you experience if you ever need to do work on a higher end knife.Bill DeShivs wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 7:15 pm There are 13" Italian stilettos. Many aren't particularly expensive.

I know about 13” stilettos. I have a couple. Think maybe I should just sell off all my Chinese stilettos and replace them with Italians. Then again, the cheap ones are fun for click therapy and if they break it’s no big deal.

Speaking of custom work I’ve done, here’s a cheapo 9” Milano stiletto that had white plastic handle scales. I used brown leather dye on the scales to give them a synthetic bone look. I made a $20 knife look like a $100 knife. Hehe!

I like that color.
Re: 12.5” Chinese Tactical Black Stiletto
I assume you mean some kind of cold bluing solution.
I have never used that, so I can't say for sure. It would be darker, but I don't know if it would be black.
Also, the last time I looked, those solutions are a little pricey. Unless you have other projects in mind, you might end up spending as much as you paid for the knife just to get a dark button.

Yeah, the cold bluing material was what I was talking about. Thanks for the info.

I have a similar looking knife. I didn't realize that you needed to oil these until I started doing some reading here the other day.
