Gone Fishin'

Post by natcherly »

Here is a picture of a little something I got a couple of years back from Lamadamas, a source in Europe who has since dropped off the face of the earth, metaphorically speaking. Anyone know what happened to him?

Awesome! That's huge. How deep is your pocket? I bet the tail pops out. The handle is made of wood so does your fish swim/float?
What are the specs? OAL? Blade size? What's it weigh?

You would need XXXXL Cargo Pants to actually carry that piece. It is 19 1/2" in length. Blade is 8 3/4". The scales are solid wood (Cocobolo), and although I have no idea of the weight, I am sure it would NOT float....

The blade is almost as long as a regular 9" stiletto. That knife is a monster; a fish on steroids.

Holy Mackerel!
Some folks call it a sling blade, I call it a Kaiser blade.

I'm pretty sure those ones are protected in international waters.

Thanks, Dave. Researching and writing that piece was very interesting and enjoyable. There is lots to learn about our hobby and the artisans who create the knives we all enjoy.

What a BIG fish.
That's almost a record catch. I would like to see a video of it.
