Hello Lars,
I'm not sure, but I can recall hearing about a Swedish steel company that's well known for its high quality steel. It seems that their are only stands to reason that their Damascus steel would an excellent material too.
I was very impressed with the color match of the bolsters with the blade. It's a very smooth transition. Sometimes Damascus bolsters can be a bit too much and mirror polished steel or nickel silver may have too much contrast. As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Thank you, Lars, for taking a look at my new Black Pearl and for your comment,
John

Hi Steve,
How are you? It's great to hear from you! Roger customizes knives like no one else. I love those skulls. The file work he did is awesome. He's very talented. Thanks for showing me and everyone else your knife by ECS.
I should do a group shot, but the knives wouldn't been seen they'd be so small. I'd have to do batches. Like 9" Frank B's then Campolin's etc. I'd love to do that. I need a 30 hour day.
Thank you, Steve, for your compliments, your friend,
John

Re: The Black Pearl
Hello, John! I am quite taken with your Black Pearl!! It is like a large, smooth-as-glass, black pearl...a flawless gem!! You really scored big time to get #1, and to get such a beauty! I learned that only 12 of these knives were made by Frank. These are KEEPERS!! Oh, and I LOVE how your PICTURES turned out!!! It is AMAZING how you brought out the design in the Damascus Blade!! Nice going!!!
I will push your buttons--please pass me your switchblades first.
Re: The Black Pearl
