Vintage American push buttons
While I've got my collection out, here are my American push button knives made by Schrade, George Schrade, Imperial/Hammer Brand, Colonial, and Edgemaster.

I'm a big fan of the old America autos. If someone still made one of the double-bladed Schrades or Flylocks, I would buy one for an EDC. It would be the perfect "office knife."

Very nice collection. It always struck me that the old Americans switchblades were made as cheaper card knives with few execptions, while the old Italian and German made ones were built better than the new ones. The USA made ones of today are well made and high priced. The Italian are now trying to reproduced the quality of days gone by with the new 5 mm knives that mirror the ones from the 50s. I do love the old USA ones, I just wish they were made closer to the standards of the old slip joint pockets knives of the same era.....

Re: Vintage American push buttons
I bought that one about 20 years ago for 10 bucks at flea market. It is stamped "Edgemaster." It did not have a spring, but I made one myself that although crude, works. The blue-handled knife on the right that has a bale was my first SB that I bought 30 years ago. It is also an Edgemaster.FreeTheArmy wrote:very cool collection!!

These vintage American push-button knives were not heavy duty, but the quality of the steel in the Schrade knives is comparable to other quality pocket knives of the era. Thanks everyone for the compliments on my knives.

Awesome collection. As JerrBear said, a lot of history.
