Sounds like you are a deal hunter like me!! I also agree that I like the transitionals more than pick locks. To me they are just as well made and are far more of a value. You did very well based on the prices you paid!!!!!!

Even Lucio had no info on the knife. I only got 2 pages of replies, nothing useful. He said it could be 50s or even early 60s and that his is stamped inox on the rear tang.orangeboy wrote:Can you post the multi blade model?
It's a great piece. Looks like a combination of a Venier made hunter (with the bottom pullers) and a fish picklock. Did anyone have any more info on it on the SD forum?
Jackelope posted these pics. Said another member shared them years ago. They almost look like bobtack pics to me. Are the shellpullers brass on these knives? They look brass on this one. As much as I love how sparkley and minty this one looks.. I could never bring myself to restore mine. I don't clean up vintage knives.

Thanks! I thought this was the one you were referring to. Both this one and yours are cool.
It seems not many people know much about what went on in Maniago after the 1958 ban, but I have a found tons and tons of unknown information on a variety of knives, makers and tang stamps and patents from this time period (1956-1967ish), that I am considering doing another book.
I know a quite a few things about these. I do know for a fact these were offered for sale in July of 1960 from Maniago.

Awesome charlie! Thanks for the info! Hey can u email me? I wanna ask u some questions about maybe getting some copies of catalog pages from the 60s. I am into the transitionals and oddball well made 60s knives the same way u are into the latamas. Id love to see some scans of the catalogs from this period. Ive also been asking around looking to see if anyone has a copy of the jerry skelton catalogs.. i wish i could see all the knives that were offered and the pictures. I cleaned up my inbox and lost ur email addy. Thanks
