Vintage Due Buoi Folding Grafting Knife Made in Italy

Post by john »

Hello Everyone,
Vintage Due Buoi Folding Grafting Knife Made in Italy. If you have one like this or similar please post photos of it here.
This knife is about 60 or so years old. It was made by Vito Centa's Grandfather. It is similar to my other Vintage Due Buoi Folding Grafting/Budding Knife http://talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?f=5 ... fe#p217457. This knife is slightly larger and in very good condition. Minor scratches/marks on the blade and Dark Chocolate Horn handles. AOL is 6 5/8", Steel and Spine Blade is 2.5" with Dark Chocolate Horn handles 4 1/8", Brass Liners and Pins, Tang is stamped with 2 Bull Oxen, Locks up with no movement at all.

Hi Al,
If you have a chance, please post a photo of here. I'd love to see it. I wonder if Due Buoi made them for the German market or for general export for other companies who contracted Due Buoi for this style knife.
Thank you, Al, for checking out my knife and for writing,
John

Hello Al,
I believe all the vintage knives were scaled in horn. The new knives come in a variety of scale styles.

Hi Dan,
You have an outstanding collection of this style knife. Adding another tang stamp to you collection would have been awesome. If you're interested in getting new ones for your collection you can check out Due Buoi's website. Vito is still making these knives. Even if you don't want to add a new one to your collection, you might want to compare the old with the new.
Thank you, Dan, for visiting my thread and leaving a comment,
